I had lived in the Twin Cities for only a couple of months when I first met Sandi through a previous job. During one of our first conversations at work, she casually mentioned her husband, Bill. Sandi is my age (almost to the day – she is just a week younger than I am); and I was floored. At 23, I had just picked up my life and moved half way across the country; I did not have any friends who were married, or even close to getting married.
Although on the surface we did not have much in common, Sandi and I became quick friends. We only worked together for 11 months, but spending that time together laid the foundation for a great friendship that I have treasured over the last 7 years. My husband and I have had countless double dates with Sandi and Bill, from game nights to bowling to all you can eat ribs at Turtles. Every year, Sandi and I spend one day during the holidays baking dozens of cookies and treats, and have done so in four different kitchens. We’ve been there for each other through job changes, new houses, new pets, and just about every other life event during our 20s.
It really meant a lot to me to create photographs to mark Sandi and Bill’s 10 year anniversary. I wanted to incorporate some pieces of their wedding into the pictures, so I asked them to bring a wedding photograph that we could include in the photos. Since Sandi was only 19 when she married Bill, and Bill doesn’t drink, they drank lemonade out of champagne glasses at their wedding. I thought that was such a darling detail, that I wanted to include that into the session as well. Finally, the daisy is an homage to the single daisy that Sandi carried down the aisle. Here are some of my favorite images from the day. Congratulations to my dear friends, and I can’t wait to see where the future brings you.
Lots of Love,
Tracey
